Graduate Scholarships

A number of substantial scholarships are available for the MSIRE Miami and the Virtual MSIRE programs. Decisions on these scholarships are based on applicant ability and potential. Early application is best for consideration. The university also offers scholarships from the Jerome Bain Endowed Scholarship Fund.

In addition to these scholarships, students have also earned scholarships administered by the South Florida CCIM Chapter, SIOR, Appraisal Institute and Florida Realtors. These latter scholarships are not directly administered by Florida International University.

MSIRE ON CAMPUS SCHOLARSHIP

Miami Realtors Chapman Graduate School Scholarship

At least one MSIRE Miami Realtors Chapman Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 is made available by the Chapman Graduate School of Business for students affiliated with Miami Realtors. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the prospective student must be a member in good standing of Miami Realtors at the time of application to the MSIRE Program. The award will be based on merit and will be selected from applicants for the scholarship. Applicants will provide a short (no more than 500 word statement) on how they would benefit from the scholarship and the MSIRE Program. Additional documentation other than that required under the normal application process is not required. Prospective students submitting applications prior to March 31 each year will be given preference. Applications should be submitted by June 30.

Jerome Bain Endowed Scholarship

At least one scholarship of at least $2,500 is made available by the Jerome Bain Endowed Scholarship Fund. The award is based on merit and will be selected from applicants to the MSIRE Program. Additional documentation other than that required under the normal application process is not required. 


ULI Chapman Graduate School Scholarship

At least one MSIRE ULI Chapman Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 is made available by the Chapman Graduate School of Business for students affiliated with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the prospective student must be a member in good standing of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council at the time of application to the MSIRE Program. The award will be based on merit and will be selected from applicants for the scholarship. Applicants will provide a short (no more than 500 word statement) on how they would benefit from the scholarship and the MSIRE Program. Additional documentation other than that required under the normal application process is not required. Prospective students submitting applications prior to March 31 each year will be given preference. Applications should be submitted by June 30.

ICSC Chapman Graduate School Scholarship

At least one ICSC Chapman Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 is made available by the Chapman Graduate School of Business for students affiliated with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). In order to be considered for the scholarship, the prospective student must be a member in good standing of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) at the time of application to the MSIRE Program. The award will be based on merit and will be selected from applicants for the scholarship. Applicants will provide a short (no more than 500 word statement) on how they would benefit from the scholarship and the MSIRE Program. Additional documentation other than that required under the normal application process is not required. Prospective students submitting applications prior to March 31 each year will be given preference. Applications should be submitted by June 30.

Malcolm Butters Real Estate Award

The Malcolm Butters Real Estate Scholarship will be awarded to a MS in International Real Estate student. This opportunity is provided through the generosity of Mr. Malcolm Butters, and will be awarded at the MSIRE Graduation dinner every year. The scholarship award is between $10,000 to $25,000 and will disbursed to cover partial of the students loans. The scholarship applicant must meet the following criteria: Must have a passion for the Real Estate field, be enrolled in and graduating from the Master of Science in International Real Estate program, minimum GPA of 3.25, must have proof of student loans (graduate), must have a commitment to a career in the field of real estate displayed by work in the master’s program and professional accomplishments, must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.
