Get real about a career in real estate.
If you think working in real estate is all about selling condos and houses, think again.
Few career paths offer as many directions—and opportunities for success—as real estate. Sure, you could put your expert broker skills to work in the residential marketplace. You also could focus on commercial sales and development. Or you could handle the financial side of complex, multi-million-dollar real estate deals.
“If you are serious about excelling in real estate, RESA provides the perfect opportunity to take the next step to learn about career options and meet people who can help you now and in the future.”
—Sam Kantor, RESA president

To help you learn more, the Real Estate Student Association (RESA) opens the door to myriad possibilities, offering undergraduate students a chance to extend their real estate education by learning from experts in various sectors of the industry.
“If you are serious about excelling in real estate, RESA provides the perfect opportunity to take the next step to learn about career options and meet people who can help you now and in the future,” said Sam Kantor, undergraduate student and RESA president, who brings his own deep-rooted passion for the real estate industry to the College of Business Administration as he pursues a dual degree in real estate and finance.
Planned events foster learning and networking.
According to Kantor, upcoming scheduled RESA events focus on bringing in guest speakers, including developers, investors, construction managers, real estate attorneys, architects, and brokers. First up on the roster was Frank McKinney, the self-proclaimed “maverick daredevil real estate artist” based in South Florida.
“We also plan to invite members on tours of active job sites, led by the project’s developer or related parties,” Kantor said.
William Hardin |
William Hardin, director of real estate programs for the college’s Department of Finance and Real Estate and RESA faculty advisor, invites real estate majors as well as other students to consider joining RESA.
“It’s a great way to get a firsthand look at the range of exciting long-term careers to be forged in the real estate business as the market swings down and back again,” Hardin said.
RESA is supported financially by the Jerome Bain Real Estate Institute and a gift from Ken Rosen of Kendar Realty.
