Jeopardy Challenge: And the question is. . .?
What is an event at which student organizations from the College of Business Administration get together in a battle of wits and physical agility and at which Denver Cheddie, representing Delta Epsilon Iota (DEI), is declared the winner?

About fifty students rooted for Cheddie and the other five contestants: Alex Trujillo, American Marketing Association (AMA); Eric Blanco, Beta Alpha Psi; Eduardo Ceballos, Financial Management Association (FMA); Spiro Blantes, International Business Honor Society (IBHS); and Miguel Martinez, FIU Accounting Association (FIU-AA).
“Our idea was to sponsor networking among the student organizations and to create a different approach to showcase employment opportunities,” said José Toscano (BA ’97), assistant director, College of Business Administration Career Services, who emceed the event. “Included on our panel of judges were representatives from prospective employers—Chad Naylor from Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Juan Compress from Walgreens— as well as Latrell Myers and Ivette Durate from Career Services at Florida International University.”
Cheddie won a $150 cash price for himself, along with an array of gifts valued at more than $200. DEI also won $150 thanks to Cheddie’s victory.
Categories included world geography, math, music, and scary movies, along with questions about careers and business. In addition to the mental challenge of answering the questions, the competitors had to juggle, create a house out of a deck of cards, or balance a hula hoop.
“The event exceeded our expectations and we currently are planning to host this event again in Fall, 2006,” said Lauren Hubacheck, career consultant with Career Services.
Sponsors for the event were Barnes & Noble, Dave & Buster, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, LA Fitness, Progressive, Walgreens, and Waves.
