MIB students apply classroom learning to real world challenge.

A new course—the Master's Project in International Business—for Master of International Business (MIB) students in the Chapman Graduate School of Business, gives students the opportunity to put their studies to practical use. In its initial offering, conducted over the summer 2005, teams worked at DHL Latin America Division and at American International Group, Inc. The companies had agreed to participate in the program by contributing a current strategic or operational issue that they were facing.
Working under the supervision of Chapman's Associate Dean Tomislav Mandakovic, the students—who were organized in multinational groups—researched the problem, analyzed the data obtained, and presented recommendations to management.
"The course provided students with the chance to work on existing projects for some of the country's and the world's biggest companies," Mandakovic said.
According to MIB student Elliott Konig, "Thanks to the Master's Project, my classmates and I had the advantage of gaining real experience while we pursued our degree."
