AMA Chapter again wins award as Outstanding Regional Chapter.

During the weekend of April 16-17, the College's Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) attended the 27th Annual International Collegiate Conference.

Our Chapter was awarded "Outstanding Regional Chapter," ranking FIU in the top 10 (out of 300+ chapters) in the entire United States for the third consecutive year.

"This is an extraordinary accomplishment for our Chapter, due to the fact that it's ONLY been 4 years since it was revitalized," said Tim Dugan Birrittella, lecturer, Marketing and faculty advisor.

Birritella said some Chapter highlights from this year include:  

• Maintaining its membership of 150 students
• Conducting more than 30 professional development seminars
• Raising more than $14,000 to subsidize the Collegiate Conference for members
• Participating in 10 community service programs throughout the year

Students can still join and be part of the College's Chapter for $39. Applications are available at its web site ( www.fiu.edu/~ama ) and in the Marketing Department (RB 307B). Membership dues are good for one full year from the date of joining.
