IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Summer version of marketing strategy course offers hands-on experience.

Imagine that you could be engaged in developing a real marketing strategy for a real company and get college credit for it. This summer, you can.

The version of MAR 4853 (Marketing Strategy) offered in the Summer A session will enable you to apply what you've learned in other courses-such as Consumer Behavior and Marketing Research -to develop a marketing plan for a company that will truly benefit from your analysis. You'll work with actual data-market characteristics, segments, competition, distribution channels, and much more-provided by one of several small agricultural businesses in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.

"This is a capstone project for marketing students," said Andrew P. Yap (BBA '91; MBA '97), who will teach the course on behalf of the Eugenio Pino and Family Global Entrepreneurship Center. Yap is vice president and CEO of LEASA, one of the largest bean sprout growers in Florida. The course supports the program goals of the John Ogonowski Farmer-to-Farmer program.
