If you've been thinking about taking a more active role in a student organization but weren't sure what the payoff would be for your hard work, consider this benefit: members of the executive boards of the University's student organizations have been invited to an employer reception at the home of FIU President Maidique before the Career Fair on February 15, 2005. They'll get to mingle with leading local, national, and international employers, possibly furthering their careers as employers get to know them in a relaxed, informal setting. So, take a leadership role in one of the many student organizations and you'll have the satisfaction of contributing to the College, learning valuable skills, and maybe getting to attend a future event like this reception where prospective employers will know from the start that you're an exceptional business student.
