Take this course and you're in business.
These days, to be a well-rounded person, you need to be familiar with terms like globalization, outsourcing, downsizing, and other business concepts that have far-reaching effects. The College now offers Introduction to Business, a course that you can take as a freshman or sophomore. Thinking about majoring in business? Introduction to Business is an ideal way to help you decide if that's the right direction for you and to help you zero in on the area in which you might want to specialize, such as human resources, marketing, or finance. Plus, you'll get a context for all your future business courses. Have other career plans? The course provides a one-semester survey so that you'll be well-informed about what business is all about. The lively text, Understanding Business, contains web pointers, feedback, exercises, and more to provide a highly interactive experience. The College plans to offer it in a traditional classroom version and a technology-assisted collaborative model. For more information, please contact Associate Dean Cliff Perry at 305-348-2751 or e-mail him at perryc@fiu.edu.
