NEWS OF NOTE

No debits in for-credit finance internship.

Looking for a way to integrate your background in finance with real-world experience . . . and get College credit for it? Look no further than the three-credit internships offered through the Department of Finance. After you've interviewed successfully, you could find yourself interning at Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney, Bank United, Total Bank, or the Miami Herald, among others. You'll need to meet the pre-requisite of three completed finance courses (so you'll have plenty of knowledge to apply during the experience) and a 2.5 GPA. Expect to put in a minimum of 135 hours. You'll also write a ten-page paper explaining just how you put your knowledge to work, along with a log of your activities. In addition, your supervisor will submit an evaluation of your performance.
