Beta Gamma Sigma chapter marks 20th anniversary.
The 2004 Beta Gamma Sigma induction banquet last April was unusually festive. Attendees
celebrated the chapter's 20th anniversary and inducted 115 undergraduates and 33 graduate students, along
with the first Chapter honoree, Carlos Sabater.
Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is considered the highest recognition a business student
can receive in an AACSB International-accredited business program. The academic ranking of those being
considered for membership must place them in the upper seven percent of the junior class, upper ten percent
of the senior class, or upper twenty percent of the graduating master's class.
Sabater, who also received the FIU Distinguished Service Medallion at the Spring 2004
Commencement Exercises. manages the delivery of services to Deloitte & Touche's multi-disciplinary business units
in South Florida and Puerto Rico, serves on the College's Dean's Council, chairs the School of Accounting's
Advisory Board, and sits on the board of the FIU Foundation.
Congratulations, everyone!
