NEWS OF NOTE

• Your Business Student Council leads the way.

First organized in 2001-2002, the Business Student Council (BSC)-comprised of business student organization leaders in the College-has the opportunity to communicate directly with Executive Dean Joyce Elam and with members of her administrative team. Its student members share information with each other and are intensely involved in the life of the College. As such, they meet regularly with the Dean and serve as a vital communication link between the rest of the student body and the College's administrators.

They provide input into decisions affecting their lives as students and, later, as alumni. They convey student concerns to the Dean and help work towards their resolution. They and their organizations' members help tell our story to the business community and beyond.  Members of the Business Student Council also serve on key College committees, including the "Strategic Planning Committee" and the "Teaching Incentive Program" committee.

Today, the BSC has grown into a Council that's actively striving to coordinate its members' efforts and share information about their respective organizations' activities. They're teaming up to produce joint programs.  And, for the second year, the BSC mounted an event called the International BizFest (see related story), a celebration that allows each organization involved in the Council to recruit new members while celebrating the international diversity of our student body.

The Business Student Council, which meets monthly, serves as your direct link to the College's administrators. Visit the Council's web site to learn more.
