NEWS OF NOTE

• Faculty bring new insights to class.

So just what do your College faculty do with their spare time?  Check out what just a few of your professors are researching these days:

» Management and International Business Professors Sherry Moss and Juan Sanchez have teamed up to study and propose ways to narrow what they call "the feedback gap" in manager-employee relationships. Long-time researchers in the area of human resources, they have co-authored a study entitled, "The Feedback Gap: Leveraging Organizational Learning through Meaningful and Effective Dialogue about Employee Performance," which appeared in the first 2004 issue of the Academy of Management Executive.

» There are more differences between the online shopping habits of Hispanics and Anglos (and between Hispanic men and women) than one might think, according to Walfried Lassar, associate professor of marketing in the College, and his co-researchers. Their research, which compares the shopping habits of Hispanics and Anglos, shows that Hispanics spend more on their Internet purchases, despite using the Internet less frequently and buying less often, than do their Anglo counterparts.

» As a consultant to multinational companies such as Mastercard International, Anheuser-Busch, Ingersoll Rand, and Boeing, Sumit Kundu, associate professor of management and international business, has helped American managers become better-educated about success on the international playing field by urging them to understand the value of relationship-building as a strategy for getting results.

Ask your professors about their latest research!  Chances are, they'll be happy to tell you.
