Paul Ligon |
Paul Ligon has 20 years of experience in the environmental field. He was a senior consultant with a global environmental management consulting practice (Tellus Institute) between 1990 and 2003, where he advised agencies and businesses on emerging best practice and policy in the environmental fields. Ligon joined Waste Management’s Upstream group in 2003, and launched the Environmental Enterprise and Supply Chain Service unit, which provides zero waste services to Fortune 500 companies in the diversified manufacturing, industrial, food and beverage, cruise-line, petrochemical and pipeline segments. He currently directs WM-Upstream’s strategy, engineering, and innovation team. Ligon has published or delivered more than 30 presentations and professional articles on business and sustainability, and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). A Cum Laude graduate of The University of Vermont, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences, and went on to earn a Master’s of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He founded the University of Vermont’s “Vermont Student Environmental Progam” and Tuck’s “Business and Sustainability Initiative”, both of which continue to provide practical training and experience to students pursuing careers in the environmental field.
