James R. Bussey,

College of Business Administration
James R. Bussey (Jim) is the Chief of Staff to the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Florida International University. In this capacity he serves as an internal advisor to the college, improving processes and preparing the organization for its anticipated growth; he also represents the college on various community boards and committees.
Prior to this, he was the Chief Information Officer for Carnival Cruise Lines (22 years), and the co-founder/Chief Operating Officer of a business-to-business Internet company, CruisePath.com.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cornell University and moved to South Florida in 1966. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Florida International University (FIU) in 1999, prior to joining the Dean’s office in 2004.
Jim’s skills in communication began in the business community, from internal presentations to management and peers to speaking and facilitating external conferences and events. As an executive in the Toastmasters International organization, he has distinguished himself as a contest-winning speaker, mentor, and presenter.
Schedule
Monday – Tuesday, July 7 – 8, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Thursday – Friday, December 11 –12, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tuition
The program fee of $795 includes tuition and instructional materials. The fee is subject to change and is payable in advance.
Location
Classes are held at the University Park Campus, located at 11200 S.W. 8th Street, Miami. This location is convenient and easily accessible from the Florida Turnpike and the S.W. 8th Street Exit.

Please call our office at 305-348-4217, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and we will take your registration and payment information. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover Card.
In person
Come to the Office of Professional and Executive Education, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and we can process your application. Our location is College of Business Administration, 11200 S.W. 8th Street, CBC 223, Miami, Florida 33199-0001.
Once you have registered, you will receive an email confirming your place in the program.
Registration and Withdrawal Policies
Payment Policy: Program fees are due in full upon acceptance into the program
Substitution Policy: Qualified substitutes for participants can be accommodated with advance written notice.
Withdrawal Policy: Due to costs associated with establishing, holding, and replacing participant slots, the following guidelines will be implemented:
- 1 week prior the program: the participant will be charged 50% of the program fee.
- 2 - 4 weeks prior the program: the participant will be charged 25% of the program fee.
- The remainder of the above mentioned will be transferred to another program upon receipt of written notice.
