Program Courses
As a participant, you will learn how to:
- communicate effectively under pressure in front of a microphone or camera
- relax and present yourself convincingly during an interview
- prepare for an interview and communicate your key messages, succinctly and clearly
- handle yourself during an unexpected encounter ("ambush") with reporters
- develop an effective press release and anticipate many reporters' questions in advance
- understand the value of cultivating and developing relationships with reporters
- evaluate when and when not to accept interviews or answer questions from the media
Note: Class sizes are small (4-7 maximum) to maximize personal attention.

Glab was a public affairs executive with ExxonMobil for more than 25 years, managing government, community, and media relations; corporate marketing and advertising, and emergency response, including crisis management and media training for hundreds of executives.
Emmett (Bill) Young
Young has more than 30 years of experience in public relations, including specialized trade publications and as a public relations executive with a major international Fortune 500 corporation.

Tuition
The program fee of $995 includes tuition and instructional materials. The fee is subject to change and is payable in advance.
Location
Classes are held at the University Park Campus, located at 11200 S.W. 8th Street, Miami. This location is convenient and easily accessible from the Florida Turnpike and the S.W. 8th Street Exit.

In person
Come to the Office of Professional and Executive Education, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and we can process your application. Our location is College of Business Administration, 11200 S.W. 8th Street, CBC 223, Miami, Florida 33199-0001.
Once you have registered, you will receive an email confirming your place in the program.
Registration and Withdrawal Policies
Payment Policy: Program fees are due in full upon acceptance into the program
Substitution Policy: Qualified substitutes for participants can be accommodated with advance written notice.
Withdrawal Policy: Due to costs associated with establishing, holding, and replacing participant slots, the following guidelines will be implemented:
- 1 week prior the program: the participant will be charged 50% of the program fee.
- 2 - 4 weeks prior the program: the participant will be charged 25% of the program fee.
- The remainder of the above mentioned will be transferred to another program upon receipt of written notice.
