|Mike Tomás is considered by many in the industry as one of the most experienced marketers for Ibero-American audiences. He spent nearly 20 years driving the evolution of telecommunications in the U.S. and Mexico in leadership roles ranging from sales, marketing, customer service, telemarketing, engineering, and operations.
Mike was Chief Marketing Officer at Avantel, WorldCom’s US$1 Billion dollar joint venture and Grupo Financiero Banamex-Accival (now Citibank). During his 17-year tenure at MCI and Worldcom, Mike was credited with developing effective marketing strategies, building highly productive working teams, and managing complex budgets in multi-faceted organizations. Upon retiring from Worldcom, Mike joined other ex-MCI executives (including ex-MCI CEO Jerry Taylor) and helped raise $40M in venture capital to form Ineto, an integrated customer communications software solution that was named on Red Herring magazine’s “Top Ten to Watch” list.
Upon the successful sale of that company in 2001, Mike helped launch the ASTRI Group, an early-stage private equity investment company providing capital, business development and strategic marketing support to emerging private companies.
