ISM 6057 Web Management

This course considers organizational distributed architectures, where multiple independent intra- or inter-organizational systems interact to fulfill a business need.  Topics a student can expect to be covered in this class include:

Student progress in this course is evaluated through a set of individual and group assignments.  Individual assignments are designed to allow students to demonstrate their depth of understanding of the concepts presented in the course, as well as to develop skills in analyzing and making recommendations regarding emerging technologies.  In the group assignments, students work together research existing distributed technologies, and to design services to support a distributed business process in a real business domain, assess the technical and organizational feasibility of the design, and propose potential ways of overcoming technical and organizational challenges for the design.
Student work is evaluated based on the depth and richness of understanding and analysis demonstrated through the assignment deliverables.
