Competitive Strategy
This course is designed to provide an understanding of the economic behavior of individuals, firms and aggregates—income, employment, output, inflation—on a national scale.
It begins with a look at the behavior of individual economic agents: consumers, producers (firms), and markets. It focuses on managerial decision-making in a variety of competitive environments, examining factors like consumer choices, demand analysis, short- and long-term costs of production, pricing with and without monopoly power, market structure, and competitive strategies.
The course also analyzes the behavior of the economy as a whole. It reviews the determinants of total national output as well as the factors affecting aggregate employment and overall price levels, including fiscal and monetary policies.
