  • international applicants are required to submit the following documents: Declaration of Certification of Finances (DCF), a bank letter, a sponsor letter, if applicable, and an F-1 transfer if they already have an F-1 Visa.
  • official GMAT or GRE scores—use institutional code 5206 (FIU) when indicating test score submission. Please refer to specific program for minimum score requirements.

The Chapman Graduate School offers special GMAT preparation courses throughout the year to assist candidates in meeting the requirements for admission to our programs.

Application Process

Be sure to submit your application materials to the Chapman Graduate Admissions Office, even though you are applying online using the university’s graduate online application form.  Doing so will expedite your application process.

All materials need to be sent to:

International MBA
Chapman Graduate School of Business
Florida International University
1050 SW 112 Avenue CBC 216
Miami, FL  33199-0001

To apply:

  • Complete the online graduate programs admissions form. Please remember to select the program code "BADM30MBA" from the pull-down menu listing all university graduate programs in the online admission form. Selecting an erroneous program code may jeopardize timely admission.
  • Have official transcripts, proof of degree, relevant test scores, and other documentation sent to the Chapman Graduate Admissions Office (see below as well if you are an international student).
  • Submit a current resume of professional experience.
  • Submit a statement of purpose—a one-page essay describing your professional goals and reasons for pursuing a master's degree at Florida International University. This essay may be substituted for the essay completed with the online application.
  • International students need to provide the following as well:
  •
    • TOEFL score sent directly by the Educational Testing Service. When requesting that official scores be submitted, please refer to the Florida International University Institution code 5206.
    • original letters from relevant bank and private sponsor with completed "Declaration of Finances" (DCF) form, a bank letter, a sponsor letter, and an F-1 transfer (if applying for F-1 visa). You may download the graduate DCF form and review instructions for complying with this requirement at this web site. Please note that the minimum amount in the DCF must be at least $52,200 for the academic year 2008-2009.
    • as space in the program is limited, you are encouraged to apply early.

NOTE:  All credentials and documents in a language other than English must be translated by an official translation agency and sent to us in a sealed envelope; notarized translations are not acceptable. If you need to have transcripts translated, you will need to ask your school for two copies: one original, non-translated unopened copy to be sent to us, and one which will be sent to the translator.
