We admit students in the fall and spring terms.
To qualify for admission,
1. applicants must meet the university’s general requirements for admission to a graduate program:
- good standing with all previously-attended colleges and universities
- a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- a grade point average of 3.0 or better based on upper-division coursework. Applicants with less than a 3.0 may be considered, but they should refer to specific program for details.
- official transcripts from all previously-attended universities (undergraduate and graduate) in an envelope sealed by the degree-granting institution(s).
- official proof of degree—a copy of the original diploma is required if the degree is not posted on the official transcript.
- for international transcripts needing translation, applicants must request two sets of transcripts: one for the translation agency and another one for us.
- applicants whose native language is not English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS.) They must obtain a minimum score of 213 on the computer-Based TOEFL (CBT), 550 on the paper-based TOEFL (PBT), or an 80 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT). Applicants taking the IELTS must score a minimum of 6.3 overall. To obtain information about the TOEFL exam, please contact the English Language Institute 305-348-2222, or visit www.toefl.org. - international applicants are required to submit the following documents: Declaration of Certification of Finances (DCF), a bank letter, a sponsor letter, if applicable, and an F-1 transfer if they already have an F-1 Visa.
- official GMAT or GRE scores—use institutional code 5206 (FIU) when indicating test score submission. Please refer to specific program for minimum score requirements.
The Chapman Graduate School offers special GMAT preparation courses throughout the year to assist candidates in meeting the requirements for admission to our programs.
2. Official GMAT (minimum score is 500) or GRE score (combined verbal and quantitative scores must equal a minimum of 1000).
Application Process
Be sure to submit your application materials to the Chapman Graduate Admissions Office, even though you are applying online using the university’s graduate online application form. Doing so will expedite your application process.

To apply:
1. Complete the online graduate programs admissions form. Please remember to select the program code "TAXA11MST" from the pull-down menu listing all graduate programs in the online admission form; selecting an erroneous program code may jeopardize timely admission.
2. Have official transcripts, proof of degree, relevant test scores, including GMAT or GRE, and other documentation described above sent to the Chapman Graduate Admissions Office. Official transcript(s) from all previously-attended colleges and/or universities must be sent directly to the Chapman Graduate School Admissions Office by all formerly-attended institution(s) in a sealed university envelope. Official test scores must be sent directly by Educational Testing Service (ETS). The university code is 5206.4. Submit a current resume of professional experience (2 years of work experience are required).
3. Submit a current resume to the Chapman Graduate Admissions Office.
4. Submit statement of purpose to the Chapman Graduate Admissions Office. There is not a minimum or maximum word or page count. The document should outline your objectives in pursuing this graduate degree.
5. Submit letters of recommendation (optional) to the Chapman Graduate Admissions Office.
6. Submit a sponsor letter (if applicable) to the Chapman graduate Admissions Office.
Only those applicants who have submitted complete application packets will be considered. Meeting the minimum requirements is not a guarantee of admissions.
