Sheila Paul Shedd is no stranger to public administration. She has over 8 years of municipal government experience. She currently serves as the City Clerk of Homestead where Mayor Roscoe Warren first appointed her in 2005. She served with Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez as Doral's first City Clerk in 2004 and with Mayor Otis Wallace in Florida City in 2001.
Sheila obtained her Certified Municipal Clerks (CMC) distinction in 2003 from the International Institute of MUnicipal Clerks . Sheila collaborates daily with multiple City, County, State and Federal agencies. Her office is dedicated to providing quality public service to both internal and external customers, including the Mayor and Council and the City of Homestead residents.
Sheila is the current President of the Miami-Dade County Municipal Clerks Association. She was the first president elected to serve two consecutive terms within the association. Her memberships include the Florida Association of City Clerks, International Institute of Municipal Clerks and the American Society of Public Administrators. She also serves as an MBA Advisor to the Texas-based Prison Entrepreneurship Program.
Prior to entering the public administration aren a, Sheila was a Lead Teacher in the NASAsponsored program, Project V.I.S.I.O.N. This "Very Intensive Scientific Inter-curricular Onsite" education program taught Math and Science lessons to students throughout MiamiDade County in an effort to encourage elementary and middle school children to consider careers in engineenng, science and technology.
Sheila is a resident of Homestead with her husband, David. Her pastimes include spending time with family and friends. She is Haitian-American and speaks fluent Creole. She graduated from Miarni Southridge Senior High School. She obtained an Associate in Arts Degree in Business Administration from Miami-Dade College. She holds a Bachelors Degree from Florida International University with a double major in Business Management and International Business. She recently obtained her MBA in the Executive Masters in Business Administration (Executive MBA) program at Florida International University in May 2009. |
