Martin Cerda is the founder and president of Encuesta, Inc., a market research firm that specializes in nationwide custom quantitative research for corporate advertisers and advertising agencies that target Hispanic consumers in the United States. Throughout its twenty-year history, Encuesta, Inc. has positioned itself as one of the leaders in US Hispanic research, serving companies such as Alcoa Inc., American Airlines, Burger King Corporation, The Coca-Cola Company, Ford Motor Company, General Electric, MillerCoors LLC, S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. and The Home Depot.

A young entrepreneur, Mr. Cerda founded Encuesta, Inc. in 1989, only three years after graduating from college. Today the firm has grown to a 13 full-time employees and conducts fieldwork in-house with approximately 100 part-time/full-time employees. Encuesta, Inc. is now considered among the top three Hispanic market research firms in the country, a testament to Mr. Cerda’s persistence, his hands-on approach, and his knowledge of the market as well as the latest research techniques and state-of-the-art software and technology. In 1999, Encuesta, Inc. launched the first online research website dedicated to conducting research among US Hispanics. In 2005, the pro bono “Americanos Poll” was first released with the stated purpose to promote a better understanding of the US Hispanic population.

Mr. Cerda is a cum laude graduate of Florida International University (1986), and was honored with the school’s Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in Marketing. He was also selected for the Multicultural Super Council of the Advertising Research Foundation (the ARF) and he is a member of the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA), American Marketing Association (AMA), American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR), the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR), Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, and the Cuban American National Council’s Hispanic Leadership Training Program. Mr. Cerda was listed in the Who’s Who Among Hispanic Americans and is active in numerous local civic organizations.
