The Latin American Forum (LAF) is an organization established
by the Chapman Graduate School of Business together with several
interested business people from the multinational community in South
Florida. Its purpose is to:
- provide a forum for an exchange of ideas and experiences regarding
strategic and other business issues faced by its members in the
Latin American marketplace
- serve as a locus for networking and business development and
- increase access to valuable information through the participation
of special speakers and published information and research.
The LAF brings together the chief executive officers of Latin American
firms, their peers in major multinational corporations, and regional
experts in a highly interactive venue intended to promote the exchange
of issues, insights, and experiences.
The Forum meets eight times a year (once a month from October through
December and February through June) on the first Friday of the month
at 7:30 a.m. at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.
The format includes a continental breakfast, and the sessions run
until 9:30 a.m. Sessions may include a moderator or a guest speaker,
depending on the subject matter or the interests of the members.
They also take advantage of the university’s access to key
regional policy makers who frequently visit Miami.
Membership in the LAF is exclusive and non-transferable. In order
to keep the Forum at the highest level, no substitutions are permitted
(including within the same company). The meetings are strictly confidential,
and no media representatives are allowed.
